The Process

My recent works include hand dyed tissue and newsprint papers which are cut, applied to canvas and varnished with a UV protective varnish. Plain white tissue paper is submerged in baths of dye, along with oil paints, to create different palettes of colors and patterns. After dying, I "read the papers" and decide how best to incorporate the papers into a composition. The papers are then cut, and fixed to the canvas. After dying a UV protective varnish is then applied. The end result is beautiful and magical!
